Ginger Biscuits

Ginger Biscuits

.10oz,275g plain flour
2 teaspoon ground ginger
half-teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
4oz, 110g butter
8oz, 225g caster sugar
tablespoon treacle
1 beaten egg
a little granulated sugar
buttered baking tray
Sieve together the flour, bicarb. and spices. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add in the egg and treacle, then add the flour & spices. mix into a dough. Form into little balls, roll these in the granulated sugar and place on the baking tray. Bake in a moderate oven for about 12 minutes

Gina tried these biscuits and say's that they were not very gingery. However it does transpire that the ginger she used was about twenty years old! She also thought that they were a bit big until she realised that the size was up to her!
