Cats and dogs

Continuing our "only in America" theme. Here's a wall in Dunedin where you can, for a small fee, have your dog (or cat) immortalised in oils.

this is for Andrew!

Do the words "only in America" spring to mind? We had a lovely day out with our landlords and family at a place called Dunedin where there were many stalls like this one. We successfully avoided buying any foodstuff and so were able to enjoy our dinner at a swish restaurant later. I can't believe that we only have another 8 days left!

zebra crossing?

I can't believe that where there are no traffic lights to cross the road you are expected to take a flag and cross whist waving it! I have been almost run over twice because I couldn't walk for laughing .

superbowl

Well the three of us have just watched some five hours of the superbowl and apart from being bemused most of the time, I personally enjoyed the game. Our landlords here, Margaret and Peter were at the game in Dallas as they are big Greenbay Packers supporters so it gave us a team to support which kind of involved us more then normal. I must say that the 4th quarter was a bit nerve racking but it all came tight in the end. GO PACKERS!
